I’ve been drawing from the time my parents stuck a crayon in my hand when I was two years old. Self-taugh most of my life, I went back to school when I was forty years old, doing a year at the San Francisco Art Institute, before going on to Foothill College in Los Altos, CA., to work on an A.A. in Studio Art.

My first love is graphite; ultra-portable and low mess. I’ve evolved a technique of using graphite to create a ’skeleton’ which I overlay with watercolor washes and detail with ink pens. I also love charcoal, pastels, acrylics, collage, and ceramics.

My Inspiration
Connecting with nature, animals, humans, and alternate universes is what drives my work. Many artists hold my admiration, from past Classical artists such as Durer, Rubens, Caravaggio, and Titian, more contemporary artists like George Grosz, Francis Bacon, Otto Dix, Egon Schiele, Franz Marc, and Alphonse Mucha, to modern creators Georgia O’Keeffe, H.R. Giger, and Keith Haring.
